Abstract

Following the outstanding work of Karl Brugmann on the importance of the deictic value of demonstratives, and taking into account all the research that study have inspired, the aim of this paper is to highlight the fundamental presence of these common elements in the comedy play Casina, which is an example of Plautus's maturity. The analysis focuses on the most important dramatic functions of demonstratives in scene: the deictic and foric function
