Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the film Phaedra, by Jules Dassin, in connection with the tragedies Hippolytus, by Euripides, and Phaedra, by Seneca, highlighting aspects which bring the tragedy up to date within a new historical and cultural context. For this purpose, the dramatic scheme of the myth and the core features of identity of the main characters will be analyzed
